Our Mission
Prevention First is a non-profit agency dedicated to strengthening the foundations of children and families by empowering them to successfully handle difficult, everyday life situations and extraordinary challenges such as violence and substance abuse.
Prevention First is committed to a multi-faceted, culturally- and societal-diverse approach to vision implementation through community outreach, providing targeted, influential programs for all residents of Monmouth and Ocean counties, especially those in greatest need including:
- Advocacy

- Professional certification training

We Believe…
Healthy communities contribute to the overall economic, social, and cultural well-being of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. The strength of communities comes from the strength of its families and their values governing perceptions of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, violence, education and cultural differences as they relate to issues which impact all residents. Substance abuse and violence are preventable through education and early development of life skills. All residents are entitled to respect and dignity; recognition of the value of each individual is as important as the services we provide. Everyone has the right to be heard, to receive assistance and to live in a safe and caring environment at home, at school, at work and in the community. Community is defined by the interrelationship of the business, government and nonprofit sectors. Collaboration between communities and people can make a difference. All services to people must be culturally-sensitive and linguistically-appropriate. All supporters deserve to know how financial resources are spent and for what purpose.
